Meet the Therapist
Hi, I’m Keisha A. Jones
Under Supervision of Jennifer C. Hannett, LCSW
MSW, LGSW (DC), LMSW (MD), Supervisee in Clinical Social Work (VA)
Hi, I’m Keisha A. Jones, MSW, LGSW, LMSW, the founder and therapist behind Enlightened Empowerment LLC. From a young age, I developed a deep compassion for others — something I believe was both innate and intentionally nurtured by my family. I grew up on the west side of Detroit in a family rooted in service. My grandparents and parents helped found churches, provided housing to those in need, and led their community with grace, generosity, and purpose. Their legacy of care and advocacy profoundly shapes how I show up in the therapy space.
My journey into this work was also shaped by my own experiences with grief and trauma. Through my healing, I learned the importance of reclaiming one’s voice, drawing strength from community, and honoring the resilience woven into our histories. Therapy, for me, is not simply a profession — it is a calling grounded in compassion, justice, and empowerment.
Credentials & Experience
I am a trauma-informed psychotherapist and clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting youth and adults navigating housing instability, mental health challenges, identity exploration, and systemic barriers.
In addition to Enlightened Empowerment LLC serve as a psychotherapist at Caring Through Healing LLC, where I provide individualized therapy using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), harm reduction, and motivational interviewing. My professional experience spans both direct clinical work and leadership roles across Washington, DC and Michigan, including work with AMFM Healthcare, Pathways to Housing DC, Ozone House, Spectrum Juvenile Justice Center, and the Ruth Ellis Center.
I hold a Master of Clinical Social Work from The Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Science in Women and Gender Studies from Eastern Michigan University.
Therapeutic Style
Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and collaborative. My approach is rooted in person-centered therapy, which means I believe each client is the expert of their own experience. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and accepted without judgment. I prioritize emotional safety, authenticity, and deep respect for client autonomy.
My work is guided by a trauma-informed, culturally responsive framework that affirms diverse identities and lived experiences. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while honoring each client’s unique pace and process. Therapy is collaborative, and I work alongside you to build insight, strengthen emotional regulation, and support meaningful, sustainable change.
Inclusive,
Affirming Care
I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care for individuals from the LGBTQ+ community, including gender-affirming therapy, and I offer nonjudgmental support for individuals and couples in diverse relationship structures, including ethical non-monogamy and polyamory.
My role is not to direct your life, but to support you in reconnecting with your inner strength, clarifying your values, and moving toward healing in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
